The Summer Solstice is a worldwide celebration that has once again brought individuals from across the globe and online together in the heart of New York City's Times Square for "Mind Over Madness Yoga." This day marks the beginning of summer for the Northern Hemisphere, and the Live X team returned in partnership with the Times Square Alliance organization to stream the full day of free yoga classes live on social media.
This year was special because June 21st also marked the International Day of Yoga, and participants were led by distinguished yoga instructors and special guests to find their center in the midst of the bustling city.
We were honored to experience this event and integrate two new camera angles for the annual broadcast. We used a Blackmagic Design Micro Studio 4K cameras with a fisheye lens to display the immense event space shared by the yogis with Times Square, and another to capture close-ups of the demonstrators on stage. Three additional Panasonic HE-130 robotic cameras provided discrete event coverage, and the Blackmagic Design ATEM 2M/E Production Studio 4K Switcher with the 1M/E Advanced Panel allowed our operators to transition between shots smoothly while streaming live on the Wowza ClerarCaster for Facebook and Twitter.
The full class videos and pre-class segments are available at Times Square, New York
