If you're working in a fast-paced live production environment, getting footage to your editors quickly is key to increasing your audience engagement. At LiveX, we use a streamlined workflow to bring growing files from vMix directly into Adobe Premiere Pro for real-time editing. This setup involves a vMix machine on the same local network as a Synology DiskStation NAS, which we use for both media storage and file transfers. By using the vMix Multicorder feature, we can record individual camera feeds or a program output.
Once the recordings are active, we route the destination to a shared folder on the NAS. This allows Premiere Pro to access the files immediately, even while they’re still recording. These records can be scrubbed, trimmed, and edited in real time, cutting down on turnaround time significantly.
If you don’t need to edit right away, this workflow still saves time by skipping the need for post-show file transfers. Your footage is already where it needs to be! Whether you're editing on the fly or archiving for later, this method keeps your production process efficient and connected.
