If you’re working inside LiveX’s Virtual Video Control Room, understanding streams is the key that unlocks everything else. From destinations and recordings to multiview monitoring and clipping, streams form the foundation of the entire workflow.
At its core, a stream is what receives your video feed from an encoder and hosts it in the cloud. Once a stream is created, it becomes the hub for routing video across your production environment. Inside the Streams menu, users can quickly view details like the stream name, cluster location, input type, status, and when it was last updated. From there, you can easily edit, duplicate, preview, create a multiview, or delete the stream.
Each stream also includes several configuration tabs that control how video moves through VVCR. The Inputs tab handles encoder connections, displaying the IP address, DNS endpoint, and passphrase needed to send your feed. The Outputs tab shows destinations receiving the stream and provides pull outputs for monitoring or decoding. Meanwhile, audio track assignments and transcoding options give teams deeper control over how content is delivered.
VVCR supports a variety of input methods including SRT, RTMP push or pull, and NDI, giving productions flexibility no matter their encoder setup.
Once your stream is live, VVCR’s telemetry tools provide real-time insights into bandwidth, packet loss, and latency—ensuring your broadcast stays smooth from encoder to audience.
