In today’s unboxing we took a look at the RED Hydrogen One Titanium. After months and months of delays and updates, the first venture into the phone industry for cinema company RED comes with a “holographic” 3D Display, dual 4K Cameras on the front and back which capture 3D Footage for the four-view screen. It comes pre-loaded with it’s own “Red Hydrogen Network” - a space to share photos, videos, games, and original 4-view content.
First Impressions
Right off the bat, it’s impossible to not notice how large this device actually is. It’s bulky and heavy, with ridges on the sides for grip, a huge camera on the back, and a 5.7inch 4-view “holographic” screen, this phone goes against all the current industry standards that have become expected. As most phones are getting slimmer and smaller, RED did the exact opposite - it even still has a headphone jack! It comes equipped with dual front and back 4k cameras, which are hard to miss. One cool feature on this device is the plan for it to be integrated with the RED cinema cameras in the future - the 4 pins on the back side of the phone are installed with the plan to attach RED cinema equipment, and possibly even turn this into a full-fledged RED cinema camera. Although this is still currently unreleased and without a date, RED has slated for a release sometime in 2019, so time will tell.
